What it is
Every café app answers "what's near me, and what's its average rating?" The rating is the weak part. A 4.3 stitched together from anonymous text reviews doesn't tell you what those people ordered, or whether they even went.
The unit of content in Sip is a sip: one drink, at one café, with a photo and a rating. A café's score is built from real, logged visits — so it's answerable at the level that matters: is the coffee good, and what should I order.
Where it works
Los Angeles, for now. The catalog is built from open geodata (OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps) and covers thousands of real LA cafés.
