Sip is operated by Ottoco LLC, a limited liability company based in Redondo Beach, California, USA.

Contact us

We read every message. Please include your @username and your device model if you are reporting a problem.

Delete your account

In the app: Profile → Settings and activity → Settings and privacy → Delete account. This removes your profile, your sips, your photos and videos, your notes and reviews, and your messages. It cannot be undone.

If you cannot reach the app, email us from the address on the account and we will do it for you.

Export your data

In the app: Profile → Settings and activity → Settings and privacy → Export my data. The file is built on your phone and handed to the share sheet, so you can save it to Files, AirDrop it, or mail it to yourself. Nothing is uploaded to build it.

Report a sip, a comment, or a person

Sips, comments and profiles each have a Report action. Reports are reviewed and acted on. You can also Block someone from their profile, which hides them from you and you from them; blocked accounts are listed under Settings and privacy → Blocked accounts.

If something needs urgent attention, email contact@ottocoapp.com with a screenshot.

A café is closed, in the wrong place, or listed twice

Open the café and choose Report an issue. There are three options: Permanently closed, This isn't here, and Duplicate of another pin. The catalog is built from open geodata and is corrected continuously.

A café is missing

Start a sip as normal. When Sip asks which place you are at, you can name a place that is not in the catalog yet and it is submitted for review.

“You are not at the café”

A sip can only be posted while you are physically at the café, which is what makes the ratings mean anything. If you are there and Sip disagrees, check that Location permission is set to While Using the App and that Precise Location is on, then try again from outdoors or near a window.

A public sip needs a photo taken in the app

That is intentional. A photo chosen from your camera roll is allowed on private and friends-only sips, and refused on public ones.

Where Sip works

Los Angeles, for now. If you are outside the catalog's area the map will be empty and you will not be able to post a sip — that is expected, not a fault.
